Dr Henriette Rudi Steinvik - Registered Psychologist
Henriette is an AHPRA-registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland and a PhD in Psychology from Griffith University.
Henriette has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Her clinical focus includes:
Anxiety-related presentations, including specific phobias, generalised anxiety, perfectionism, school refusal, panic disorder, social anxiety, and separation anxiety
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders
Adjustment issues
Emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, self-esteem, and developmental concerns
Parenting support, including family- and attachment-based interventions
Henriette is a registered Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) facilitator. COSP is a research based, internationally recognised attachment-based parenting program that helps caregivers better understand their child's needs and respond in ways that strengthen emotional development and secure attachment.
Henriette has worked across private practice, community mental health, research, and university-based anxiety programs. With a background in psychological research, she is passionate about developing and delivering evidence-based approaches that promote youth mental health and wellbeing. Her PhD explored empathy and compassion as mechanisms for improving school bullying interventions.
Henriette has a warm, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic style. She works closely with clients and families to understand their unique strengths and challenges, supporting meaningful change while building resilience and confidence. She draws on evidence-based approaches tailored to the needs and preferences of her clients, including:

Henriette's practice is largely informed by attachment theory, developmental and neuropsychological research, and an understanding of nervous system regulation.
Outside of work, Henriette enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Originally from Norway, she has a lifelong love of skiing and football (soccer), and also enjoys relaxing with a good book, series, or movie.
